2012 Junior Golf Program
A. Special Events
A block of tee times is reserved for the Opening Scramble, Fun with Mom, and Dad’s Day.
B. Junior League
Participants play 9-hole rounds on Saturday afternoons with the first tee time at 12:52. Play will use all 7 courses and will be scored using modified Stableford scoring. (This is also open to Future Links registrants).
C. Junior Shootout
Pairs will play 9-hole rounds on 3 different days. On the first day, they will play Four Ball. On the second day, they will play Canadian Foursomes. On the third day, a two player scramble will be played. The sum of scores for the three rounds will be the team score. One player in each pair must be a member of the Country Club or a participant in Future Links.
D. Club Championship
The Championships will be a three day stroke play tournament (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) held in four age groups (Peewee (<11), Bantam (12-14) Juvenile (15-16), and Junior (17 - 18)). Peewees will play 9-hole rounds while the other groups will play 18 holes. Your group is determined by your age on the first day of the tournament.
E. Clinics
These sessions of drills and games are a great way to strengthen and or resurrect your game after the winter layoff and to warm up for league play. Topics to be covered are putting, the short game, and the swing.
F. Junior Section
One of the strengths of the Guelph Country Club is the existence of sections These allow groups of golfers who choose to play in the section to various games with their friends in friendly competition over the summer. If enough are interested, a group of tee times will reserved on a weekday and a junior section created. Registration closes on June 28.
G. Match Play Tournament
A single elimination tournament will run in July and August. Entries close June 28.
