I Was Reading This

The New Yorker’s article on the book “I Was Reading This” is pretty good, but I was missing something. I was reading my latest novel, “The Last Days of America,” and I found myself wishing I could go back to the ‘hood. Fortunately, I was able to make the trip on a bumpy bus, so I was able to read in the comfort of my own home.
