2017 – Golf Captain’s Board Report – Celia Ferguson
We began the season with a total of 40 ladies, 2 dropped out because of illnesses but 4 new members joined toward the end of the season giving us a total of 42. The Twilight group was very active as always with 60 plus members.
We got off to a disappointing start with the first 3 Tuesdays being rained out. But after the initial delay the golf progressed as planned.
The four inter club events were played at Springfield, GCC, Vic East, and Vic Valley and the 9 Hole ladies played at the Cutten Club and hosted at the GCC.
The Handicap Matchplay was won by Norma Zuccala and the Scotch 2 Ball was won by Cathy Densmore and Carol Christie.
The Club Championships were held the weekend of July 15th and 16th with 13 participants, the same number as last year.

The Most Improved Golfer was Judy Nasby and the winner of the Over 70 Award donated by Judy Nasby was Teresa Kane.
The Lady Members are a very cohesive group, laying on breakfasts and of course planting the gardens around the Golf course.
Franki Robinson is a great asset to the Club, no only is she a Board Member she is the Photographer Extraordinaire managing to not only take the photographs but also manages to get them published and in so doing gains access to free publicity for the Club. Just as importantly she also organizes the gardeners and does her share of gardening too.
