Field Day – “9 Shades of Green” & lunch
Welcome to our first big event this season with some 35 ladies. This was washed out on July 27, so we had to go again on August 3 with some omissions and some additions. So much spirit and fun was repeated even on our second attempt. “9 Shades of Green” was our theme and all folks dressed in many shades of green.
Our morning started with coffee and snacks thanks to Cathy Densmore and Sue Martyn – week 1 and Rod – coffee week 2. It was exciting to be able to socialize again outside and have lunch on the Shirley Clark patio. The weather was perfect on our replay day!
Our competition started with a Shotgun start at 9am. Teams were sent to their starting tees and the sun shone with a 26C high. Perfect!! Everyone played their own ball with some competitions included.
Congratulations to the “Winners and Grinners”

This was followed by a lovely buffet BBQ lunch and ice-cream. Many thanks to Rod and his staff from “Jesse’s on the Green”. Thank you to Francis for setting up and Paul Walton from the Pro shop.
Thank you to our Ladies Captain – Celia Ferguson, pom-poms and all, for getting us into the spirit with the latest updates – Club Championships – August 10 and August 17. Please make sure you are signed up! We want to see lots of you out playing and/or cheering! Also, thanks Celia for setting up the teams.
And last of all thank you to Sue Martyn for assisting in the organization of this event. It was fun and good to have two heads!!
Cheers to all!!
